Coastal Wealth Management is deeply committed to investing in a secure and deliberate manner.
We prioritize the preservation of capital above all else.
In our opinion no investment strategy is infallible. The market is too unpredictable. Scenarios arise that will break every algorithm, every approach. Because of this, we don’t try to contain the market. It’s our job to remain attentive, to identify change, to control risk. Nimbleness is mandatory. If you don’t have the courage to go to cash in the presence of the unknown, time is not on your side.
It is obviously foolish to approach the market with emotion. Astute investing requires rules and the presence of quantitative models and systematic processes.
Is it wise to place one’s entire trust in an algorithm? Probably not.
We don’t pursue exotic "alternatives". The lock-up requirements are typically severe and the investor gives up a great deal of control. We prefer mutual funds and ETFs. Both offer exposure to unparalleled research, sector diversification, lower fees, and varying levels of liquidity.
Finally - and most importantly - we keep our word. It’s that simple. Our firm has been built by referrals, and each new client deserves that same tradition of respect and service.
It is easy to get excited
Having to rebuild one's portfolio after a material loss can be arduous and life altering. Our approach tends to resonate with those that have been deeply impacted by a market correction.
Yes, risk is an important component of a well-lived life. We are simply pragmatic about the timing of taking risk. You reach a point where incremental risks aren't worth another decade in the work force or renewed mortgage.
Our advice, best preserve and build on the wealth you have worked hard to accumulate.
